SongGlance Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

SongGlance is developed and operated by Chirish Pty Ltd (“Chirish”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the SongGlance iPad application, including beta versions distributed through Apple TestFlight.

1. Our approach to privacy

SongGlance works entirely on your iPad.

The current version of SongGlance itself makes no network connections and does not automatically send your song library, charts or other application data to Chirish or any other party.

SongGlance does not contain third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software.

We do not sell personal information and SongGlance does not use information for advertising, profiling or cross-app tracking.

2. Song and performance content

SongGlance allows you to import or enter written song-chart material, including chord and lyric information, documents, photographs and text.

The app may store locally:

•

song titles and artist names;

•

chords and key information;

•

lyrics imported or entered by you;

•

song sections and play order;

•

performance notes;

•

setlists and band-specific settings;

•

tempo, timing and play-through information used to support performance features; and

•

other information you choose to add to your SongGlance library.

This information remains on your device unless you choose to export it.

SongGlance does not retain the original PDF, photograph or other source document after it has created the structured song chart.

3. Camera, photos and files

SongGlance may use the iPad camera when you choose to scan a song sheet. Camera access is requested only for this purpose.

When you choose photographs from your device, SongGlance uses Apple’s system photo picker. SongGlance does not receive general access to your photo library and receives only the images you select.

Files and images you select are processed on-device. Text recognition uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework.

4. Local storage, backups and exports

Your SongGlance library is stored in the app’s local storage on your iPad.

Depending on your Apple backup settings, this application data may also be included in an iCloud or computer backup managed by Apple.

SongGlance also allows you to initiate exports, including:

•

a SongGlance library backup;

•

a setlist PDF; and

•

a diagnostic log.

A library backup may contain your stored song content, including lyrics. Backup files are readable and are not encrypted by SongGlance, so they should be shared and stored with the same care as the song material they contain.

Setlist PDFs may contain song and performance information from your library, but do not contain lyrics.

Chirish does not automatically receive any of these exports. You decide whether and where they are sent.

5. Diagnostics

SongGlance maintains a diagnostic log locally on your device to assist with troubleshooting.

The diagnostic log does not record song lyrics or chords.

It may contain:

•

the date of an event;

•

what SongGlance was doing at the time;

•

a song title or imported file name;

•

error information;

•

SongGlance version and build number;

•

iPad model and iPadOS version; and

•

Apple system crash, hang or resource reports made available to the app.

Diagnostic information is not automatically sent to Chirish.

If you choose to export and send diagnostic information to us, we will use it to investigate problems and improve SongGlance.

6. TestFlight and Apple services

Beta versions of SongGlance may be distributed using Apple TestFlight.

Apple may process information associated with your TestFlight participation, including device and operating-system information, app sessions, crashes and feedback.

If you are invited by email, Chirish may be able to see the name and email address associated with your TestFlight invitation. Testers joining through some public-link methods may appear anonymously.

If you voluntarily submit feedback, screenshots, crash information or written comments through TestFlight, Chirish may receive that information through Apple.

Apple handles this information under its own privacy practices.

For App Store versions, Apple may also make aggregated usage information and crash or diagnostic information available to Chirish where users have chosen to share analytics with app developers through their Apple device settings. This information is collected and managed by Apple under Apple’s privacy practices.

7. Analytics, advertising and device access

SongGlance contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software.

SongGlance does not track users across apps or websites.

SongGlance does not access your:

•

microphone;

•

location;

•

contacts; or

•

advertising identifier.

8. Information you choose to send to Chirish

If you contact us for support or provide beta feedback, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as:

•

your name;

•

email address;

•

support or feedback messages;

•

screenshots;

•

diagnostic files; and

•

other information included in your communication.

We use this information to respond to you, provide support, investigate issues and improve SongGlance.

9. Retention and deletion

Information stored in your SongGlance library remains on your device until you remove it.

SongGlance provides controls including:

•

Reset Library, which removes songs, bands and setlists; and

•

Clear Diagnostics, which removes the local diagnostic log.

Deleting SongGlance from your device also removes its locally stored application data, subject to copies that may exist in Apple device backups or files you previously exported.

Information you voluntarily provide directly to Chirish will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for support, beta administration, troubleshooting and appropriate business records.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held directly by Chirish by contacting us.

10. Third-party services

The current SongGlance application itself does not transmit application data to external services.

Apple provides services associated with distribution, TestFlight, device backups and App Store analytics. Apple’s handling of information is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.

11. Your choices

You control what content you import, enter and export.

You may:

•

revoke SongGlance’s camera permission through iPadOS Settings;

•

remove individual content from your library;

•

use Reset Library to erase your SongGlance library;

•

use Clear Diagnostics to erase the diagnostic log;

•

choose whether to export backups, PDFs or diagnostics; and

•

delete the app to remove its locally stored application data.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if SongGlance’s features or information-handling practices change.
